What Is Pediatric Trigger Thumb?

Unlike trigger finger in adults, trigger thumb in children is typically congenital. The thumb is locked in a bent position at the IP joint, caused by a nodule on the flexor pollicis longus tendon.

Surgery

The procedure is brief, outpatient, and highly effective. Dr. Letzelter releases the A1 pulley through a small incision at the base of the thumb. Recovery is quick and outcomes are excellent.
